Osteochondrodysplasia and deformity of forelimb
Important! This article was made by me for my Landseer dogs in co-owned kennel Bay Du Nord. However maybe once will happen that your LR or YL will have same problem. It is important to read about it. Learn about it!!! Becuase it is not only genetic, bad feeding can also cause problem in smaller size dogs too!
Forelimb anomaly or Osteochondrodysplasia is usually seen as early as 3-4 month old. However can come until 8 month old also. It was first described in 1981 in Norway by Jorunn Grondalen in an article, seen in Newfoundland breed. This can be a hereditary or nutritional problem too. Often seen in Landseer breed. There is 2 different problem. OCD is Osteochondrodysplasia but also called OCD the Osteochondritis Dissecans which is a totally different thing and seen mostly in shoulders.
