Friendly Lagotto Barbie Doll
Friendly Lagotto Barbie Doll was born 27.08.2016 in Hungary (HU) in a small village called Hollókő. She is a 45cm and 15kg female, which makes her a little bit big. But this number is still in the standard.
Her color is brown white with tan markings in pedigree, but according to her MYDOGDNA test she is brown white on the A locus (aw) without tan markings. Which seems that is quit unique. She can make altrough any color on the dominant brown and recessive A locus too. Personally I really love her color because she did not fade out. Most of her brown patches stayed brown, light and dark too.
About her:
As character she is a very lazy couch potato at home. Mostly sleep all day inside in the rooms and bother us until we start to pet her. However as soon as she see the water she run and jump a huge to it and we can not really call her outside from it. She could swim hours if we would let her. Thats her favourite hobby from all. At home she knows she must behave well and do not dig and play in dirt. However outside, during touristic, forest walking she is an active, energetic little bomb. As I can say she knows when and what is allowed without even telling her.
She is a very smart dog. Teaching her only takes some minute. She learned everything we wanted from her and most of them not need command to do it. She just simply knows from the situation when and what is happening. Grooming her is also a very easy job. She lays, stay or even sleep on the grooming table. Do not react for grooming machine and fur blower too. I never seen a dog so careful and lovely behave with young children (under 2 years old). She help them walk, climb. Let them grab her fur and walk like that. Help them on the stairs. I was amazed when she did this the first time with the friends young daughter than a neighour boy. We do not have child in the family so she grow up without them and still such a wonderful character.
However perfect dog does not exist, every one has a fault. Barbie fault is that she loves to bark in the front gate to the street. Not matter if people or dogs walk there. She must bark at them. You can tell her to stop... well she dont really care. Untill that scary people do not go away she must bark. She eats very-very fast, which we was not able to stop. She got a slow eater bowl, that helped a lot. Thankfully she is not picky, you can give her anything and she will eat it. Vegetable, fruits, any type of meat, BARF or Cooked, she will not complain. As young puppy (until like 8 month old) she was a typical lagotto... she eated dog poop. Fortunately she stopped it after 8 month old. Its is not a big problem anyway... just not good looking for a human eye.
