Last but not least in this text group you can find the character of the breed in short to see if it is suitable for you or not.
Hereditary Disorders
Hereditary congenital diseases can be find in breeds if breeders do not make test for their breeding pairs.
The Yakutian Laika is just getting popular in there times, so it is hard to know now which hereditary disorders can be found in the breed. Not too much dog is tested yet. So as soon as I will find a hereditary disorder which can affect the breed I will make an article about it.

Bone Disorders
Yakutian Laika mostly affected with: Hip Dysplasia
Yakutian Laika rarely affected with: Elbow Dysplasia
As far as I know I never heard of the following problems in YL: Patella Luxation, Chondrodysplasia, Shoulder Dysplasia, Spondylosis
If you hear a dog with the above mentioned problem please let us know in email: [email protected]
I write down some info about this things which are not in the breed as hereditary disorder because trauma, injury and bad care also can make these faults!
Bone diseases are generally congenital or hereditary, nutritional, or traumatic. Bone defects due to nutrition are caused primarily by imbalances or deficiencies in minerals, especially calcium, vitamin D and phosphorus. Other joint and bone disorders are caused by excessive protein intake of growing animals which leads to obesity. Either deficiency or excess intake of certain vitamins, particularly vitamins A and D, may influence growth and development of bone. Traumatic causes of bone disorders represent the vast majority of cases and include fractures, fissures, periodontal reactions as a result of trauma.
